The creative work of Afro-Cuban American artist Harmonia Rosales intertwines images from ancient mythology, Biblical stories, classical antiquity and Afro-Cuban culture, challenging Eurocentric perceptions of beauty and narratives.
Her exhibition “Master Narrative” features 20 paintings and a large-scale sculptural installation on view through Dec. 2 at Spelman College Museum of Fine Art.
In this interview, “City Lights” host Lois Reitzes speaks with Rosales about the exhibit.
