For more than four decades, Maren Hassinger (b. 1947) has been recognized as a pioneering artist who mindfully explores our relationship to nature, movement, and transformation. A long-awaited and timely examination of the artist’s life and work, Maren Hassinger . . . Dreaming features sculpture, videos, and installations, several which were recreated expressly for this project. This original exhibition, curated by Andrea Barnwell Brownlee, Ph.D. and Anne Collins Smith, brings a substantial body of Hassinger’s work, created from 1986 to the present, to the Southeast for the first time.
