Object Lesson by L’Merchie Frazier
Inextricably linked to Spelman College’s history is object-based learning. In “The Visual Education of Spelman Women,” M. Akua McDaniel, Ph.D. confirms that the College began collecting objects in 1899, less than 20 years after Spelman College was founded. In honor of this 121-year old legacy, the Spelman College Museum of Fine Art presents a series of interdisciplinary lessons inspired by a work of art from the Spelman College Collection.
Lesson led by L’ Merchie Frazier Director of Education & Interpretation at the Museum of African American History, Boston and Nantucket. Inspired by Emma Amos’ mixed media artwork 2/4 Time, L’Merchie Frazier will lead a community art making workshop titled HOPE STORY SCROLLS COLLAGES.
This workshop is appropriate for all ages, but registration is required. Reserve your space at: http://bit.ly/
