Journals are written reflections that offer perspective on your experiences and observations. This art form is deeply personal and can be used as a tool for personal growth. Led by Jonetta Moyo and Althea Lawton-Thompson, The Art of Journaling will use creative visualization, expressive art activities, writing, gentle movement, and the brilliant works by Howardena Pindell
to guide participants through a journey of self-expression.

About the Facilitators      
Jonetta Moyo is a Certified Professional Coach and owner of a coaching practice that specializes in using journaling as a tool for self-connection, awareness, and expression. Jonetta has a B.S. in Education and an M.A. in Educational Management & Development and has been facilitating group experiences for over 20 years for university audiences, private organizations, and small groups.

Althea Lawton-Thompson is President of Aerobics, Yoga & More™ (AYM Fitness) and the Executive Director of the Association of Diverse Fitness Professionals Inc. (ADFP Inc). She is a certified yoga instructor with certifications in group exercise, personal training, water fitness, and Pilates. Her internationally popular fitness video series, Altheatized™, and published articles have been included in magazines like Best Body, Essence, Parenting, and Oxygen.

The Art of Journaling is organized in partnership with the Department of English, Veta Goler, and the Contemplative Practices and the Arts course.
