Spelman College is making local, national and global news! Spelman is one of the most highly respected liberal arts colleges in the United States, well known for academic achievement in three areas of distinction: prestigious top tier national institutions, historically Black colleges and universities, and women's colleges.
The Office of Communications works collaboratively with the campus community and the media to ensure “visibility of our achievements.” In our quarterly reports, we regularly garner more than 1 billion media impressions from local, national and international outlets such as CNN Headline News, The New York Times, EBONY, JET, ESSENCE, USA Today The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and more.

Spelman Connection Submission Guidelines:
Feature Items: Feature story items should be one paragraph in length (approximately 3-4 sentences). If a Web site exists that contains in-depth information pertaining to the story, please provide the Web address. Keep in mind the newsletter is targeted for the entire campus community; therefore, all stories should appeal to a wide audience.
Graphics: Prints may be forwarded with articles to the Editor. Electronic images may be forwarded in jpg format with a minimum 72 dpi resolution. Graphics should be 64 pixels in length and 63 pixels wide.
Publications
The Spelman Messenger, established in 1885, serves as the alumnae magazine of Spelman College, and is dedicated to participating in the ongoing education of its readers through thought-provoking articles designed to promote lifelong learning. It is the official magazine of Spelman College and is committed to educating, serving, and empowering African-American women.
Inside Spelman, established in 1993, is a newsletter dedicated to informing the College's constituencies about news and upcoming events and issues in the life of the institution.
